Historical Notes

The Smith & Wesson K-frame family represents iconic American double-action revolvers. The first K-frame was introduced in 1899, available in both round and square butt configurations. These revolvers served notably in both World Wars, with over 568,000 produced for the British armed forces during WWII. While the design and mechanisms have evolved, Smith & Wesson has maintained frame consistency and grip interchangeability, with most contemporary K-frames being round butts.
